Northern Polymers and Plastics are proud to be able to offer a NEW cost saving and production advanced prime grade polymer resin compounds

These compounds which have been specifically manufactured for the exact applications they have been designed for not as a general purpose additive / extender. Each grade has been specialy formulated to target the application you require each and every time which means you have a bespoke product that gives excellent results. All the grades we offer have had a very high degree of research and customer input to design and formulate the best possible filled grades that can be currently acheived with the technology available, which reflects in the excellent results. Most grades can be used in applications from 20 - 30% depending upon your product, but some customers have been able to push this percentages more.

These compounds are fully available in the UK and Europe via ourselves as an additive to the prime virgin polymer resin that you are using. This compounds are available in a variety of polymers and with various filled additives, which can be applied to a multitute of applications from extrusion, blowing film and injection moulding.

The majority of the compounds / masterbatch grades below are added with the unfilled Prime raw resin before it is fed into the injection moulding or extrusion machine via the use of a dosing or mixing unit in the same way as a tradtional masterbatch would be. It is then transported into the manufacturing process where it is homogenised together with the Prime resin ready for production into the application / product. The only grade that is differnt is the BRC GF, which is a compound grade that is directly extruded or moulded. Some of the benefits these additives have to offer are displayed below.

Below are some of the Advantages that Gema compounds can provide to production over and above cost savings

  • Does not contain heavy metals and it has a high chemical purity, in turn this removes any catalytic impact that will cause polymer ageing or degradation
  • Dependant on percentages used, producess an Opaque White colour reducing the consumption of expensive White Pigments
  • Non abrasiveness due to the CaCO3 coated with sterate acid improving the lifetime of machine part
  • It has good dispersion
  • It is appropriate for food because it is odourless, tasteless and non toxic. It can be used in food packaging
  • Helps to reduce the shrinkage after cooling
  • The specific surface area of the mineral additive does not absorb the lubricants and stabilisers or chemicals used in any formulation
  • Increases hardness of the parts
  • Increases impact strength and resistance against aging of the polymer (ESCR) Enviro Stress Crack Resistance
  • Can improve surface quality of the finished product
  • Potentially reducing the wall thickness slightly, while still retaining the strength and reducing Prime polymer consumption

  • Heat distribution is improved though better thermal conductivity during processing
